Boatsetter petitions to change Planet Earth to Planet Water!

On Wednesday, Boatsetter, announced their launch of a Change.org petition to Congress calling for a permanent change of Planet Earth to Planet Water.

Let’s change Planet Earth to Planet Water!

In the petition, Boatsetter, an international peer-to-peer boat sharing service similar to AirBnB and Uber, states that because water covers approximately 75 percent of the Earth a change is necessary for the name of the planet.

The Miami-based company believes that water, not earth is the most important resource on the planet because of its life-giving properties and abundance across the world. According to Marinebio.org, an estimated 50-80 percent of all life on earth is found under the ocean surface and the oceans contain 99 percent of the living space on the planet.

“At Boatsetter, we believe that there is so much to see and experience when boating, and we help provide customers an easy, fun-filled way to experience Planet Water,” explained Pablo Vidal, chief marketing officer of Boatsetter.com. “By signing this petition you are helping us raise this issue to lawmakers and ultimately give credit where it is due for Planet Water.”

This announcement is part of the company’s commitment to providing a world-renowned experience when boating throughout the world, whether on a fishing expedition or cruising around the Mediterranean with a group of friends.

    Creative copy/headline/Marcom!

Unfortunately most prescient given the accelerating rising seas. We’re going to need a whole lot more Boatsetter boats soon with Orlando having waterfront property in the near future. Suggest visiting the world’s great coral reefs asap – they’re dying fast:

Great petition Boatsetter – key though is to get it viral somehow to get sufficient number of signatories.
